Welcome to the Spring Foraging Challenge.
This challenge is live May 3 to May 8th. Each day there will be a Facebook Live video focused on one aspect of foraging. The video recording will be posted here and in the Facebook group here.
This challenge consists of five short video sessions, which each cover one aspect of wild harvesting.

Well you can get by with just a hat, sometimes, foraging is a lot easier with a few simple tools.

DIY Herbal First Aid Travel Kit
This class takes you step by step to creating an herbal first aid kit that is suitable for travel, hiking, and camping. Many of the projects will be perfect for carrying with you when you forage.
Making Herbal Salves Masterclass
Many herbal salves are suitable for carrying in small containers, like lip balm containers, for a small first aid kit. Just change the container and you are ready to complete your foraging first aid kit.

Foraging Field Guides
When you forage you it’s best to have at least two reliable field guides to compare plant IDs. Don’t rely on a digital field guide — they can be unreliable in the field. In this Facebook live we’ll look at some of the best and most useful field guides and also look at some inexpensive ways to get a copy for your personal library.

Foraging Mushrooms
Our guest today: Sarah Dalziel-Kirchhevel will guide us in harvesting wild mushrooms, specifically focusing on the wild mushrooms that are easiest to identify, with no poisonous look-alikes. Sarah is a mushroom expert, and the author of “Growing Mushrooms for Beginners, A Simple Guide to Cultivating Mushrooms at Home” (Rockridge Press, 2021).
